- Grade 6-7 students have had a busy month of June. They enjoyed camping for a night on the south end of Kuper Island. The students built a shelter before going swimming and enjoying the wilderness. They were also able to fish for 5 hours. Tal was the big winner of pulling in a lingcod. We were able to fillet the cod and everyone had a piece. All in all they had a wonderful time and were able to learn how to survive in the wilderness.
- This past week we went on two major field trips. The first being to Parksville and the second being to Nanaimo for swimming and a movie. The students enjoyed the hot sun at Parksville Beach. They were able to play softball and did a little swimming. As for Swimming and a movie, they enjoyed watching ‘Knight and Day’ starring Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise. Before the movie we went to eat at Pizza Hut and in the morning we had breakfast at Tim Hortons.
- Last week we were able to get out on the kayaks with Tim and Tal. They took the students to the cut. They enjoyed their time out on the kayaks.
- I want to wish all the students of KIS a wonderful and well deserved Summer break. See you all next year.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEPTEMBER 2010
